Thanks to RuPuals Drag Race, cross dressing is now a mainstream thing.
Cross dressing has been taken to a whole knew level, with hundred of drag superstars. However, as Drag Race is an American show most of the queens on it are American.
We think it about time we share some British drag talent.
We did a little bit of research and used to knowledge that we already had to find a few drag queens that we like. But feel free to leave us comments on other British drag queens you like!
- Baga Chipz Mbe
Baga Chipz is South-East Uk based drag queen, actress, activist, Soho fixture, Elegant Trollope and Queen of the Battered Sausage. You can catch her most weeks at Heaven in London’s G-A-Y Porn Idol as a judge.
2. Mary Mac
Is a Scottish drag queen who rose to fame as a dead corpse on the Scottish crime drama Taggart. Mary has been traveling around the UK in her one woman show, “Mary Mac is Musical Theatre”. Like Baga Chipz, Mary is a judge at Porn Idol most Thursdays.
3. Lawrence Chaney
Lawrence is a resident house queen at Such a Drag in Such a Drag in Glasgow as well as Circus Team manager at AXM Glasgow. Recently Lawrence worked with #Blow Glasgow in a promo video for the salon.
4. Lily Savage
Lilly Savage first debut was on the afternoon of 7 October 1978 at The Black Cap gay pub in Camden. In April 1996 Savage filmed a performance called An Evening with Lily Savage which was broadcast on ITV in November. It got over 11.2 million views and was awarded Best Entertainment Program at the 1997 National Television awards. Although Savage doesn’t appear very often, Paul O’Grady does pantomime often and is usually the evil woman.
5. Vanity von Glow
Vanity von Glow is does weekly performances in London’s West End at the Phoenix Artist Club as well as performances around the UK. She recently started up her own YouTube channel, where she shows off her performances and collaborates with other British YouTubers such as Calum McSwiggan and Roly.
